Crafted by hand, made to last

There’s a quiet kind of beauty in an object made by hand. You can see it in the curve of a carved seat, feel it in the warmth of solid timber, and sense it in the weight of something built to last.
Today, I’m excited to introduce my latest piece: the Ben Adams Dining Stool — a handmade, small-batch bar stool crafted from premium Australian timbers, designed for homes that value timeless design and honest craftsmanship.

Designed for Modern Australian Homes
The idea for this stool came from the kitchen — the heart of the home. I wanted to create something that fits beautifully at a kitchen island or home bar, where people gather over morning coffee, lazy Sunday lunches, and late-night conversations.
It’s a simple form, but not without refinement. The seat is hand-carved to gently cup the body, inviting you to sit a little longer. Clean lines and solid joinery give it a quiet confidence, balancing modern design with the organic warmth of natural timber.

Built Using Traditional Techniques
Each stool is made by me in small batches, using a combination of hand tools and traditional joinery. No shortcuts, no mass production, no flat-pack.
Timbers: Available in sustainably sourced Tasmanian Oak, American Oak, or Tasmanian Blackwood, each with its own unique grain and tone.
Height: Bar height at 650mm, perfect for most kitchen benches and home bars.
Finish: Finished by hand with natural oils and waxes to highlight the beauty of the timber and provide long-lasting protection.
A Small Batch Release
In keeping with my philosophy of making fewer, better things, the first release is a small batch of just six stools, available to order now. Each piece is stamped with the Ben Adams brand and numbered, making it a true limited edition for those who value craftsmanship and design.

Why I Make
As a furniture maker, I believe the things we live with should bring us joy, invite touch, and last for generations. This stool is a reflection of that belief — a simple, well-made object that feels at home in your home.
Thank you for supporting small-scale Australian craftsmanship. I hope this piece finds a special place in your home.
